this was taken from the new news posted on the broken promise dot com :
posted by chad

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since an update! I put together this little temporary site which we'll be using for a while.

Things are starting to progress here in Boston, and I've been working on a few new songs for a new album. I'm hoping one of them will make it on to the new demos we're going to be recording next month on my next trip back to Minneapolis.

We're currently trying to get a show lined up in the Twin Cities sometime between June 18th and the 24th. If anyone can help with this we would be super grateful to you!

We have some other plans which will start to take effect in 2006, so stay tuned for announcements on that as the time draws closer.

so we actually will be updating and beginning again, keep checking the broken promise dot com for more info!

<3 timothy

Alright, I'm sure everyone's been wondering what's going on lately since there's really been no news from TBP camp. First off, I hope all eligible voters turned out on election day, even though it saddens me to see another four years of Dubya in office. Referring back to a post from our tour journal...Ohio...dead. (Sorry guys from HQ!)

And now on to the important news. I'm sure a lot of people know by now, but for those of you who don't - I have moved from Minneapolis and am now living in Boston. That's right, I have moved halfway around the country, while P.J. and TJ are still in Minneapolis. What does this mean for TBP? Well...we HAVE NOT BROKEN UP.

TJ is planning a move to Boston in the summer of 2005, at which time him and I will continue to play music. We both hope P.J. will be joining us as well, although we don't have a 100% on that yet. I have only been gone for about a month now, but I really miss playing with those guys. I can only hope summer comes quickly, and in turn brings the guys to New England (trust me, you guys would love it here!)

During our downtime I'm hoping to write a lot of new material, so we'll be able to hit the ground running and get back into doing what we love. I'm also hoping to do more design work for I Ate Her Records, be sure to support Tony and the label, and all of IAHR's bands.

So, that is the latest info from the East Coast. Keep checking back to the site or sign up for the email list to get all of the latest info. Also, feel free to use the comment section below the post, I'd love to keep in touch with everyone!

Take care, and I'll speak to you all again soon!

<3 Chad

Wow, I know I said I'd update...but I again forgot the password!

Yes, as TJ mentioned, I am moving to Boston, MA tonight. TJ is driving out with me and then flying back to good old Minneapolis. I'm going to miss Minneapolis, but at the same time I can't wait to experience living in Boston. The band will still go on, we will just be taking time off for now while TJ finishes school and moves to Boston with me next June/July.

As TJ mentioned in the previous post, there are lots of great memories so far. He did fail to mention the 1000 degree fire with Accepting Silence, Bosio, and of course The Broken Promise. "Damn that fire is hot...why didn't anybody tell me that fire was so hot, bitch!?!"

So stay tuned for the return of TBP, we can't wait to start playing for all of you again.

Thank you all for your support over the last 4 years, and for the support for the future! =0)

Take care everyone,

<3
Chad
chad@thebrokenpromise.com

(3am central time), six bottles of ice house, five fans at cincinatti, four hours stuck in manhattan, three hours in "deliverance" west virginia, two nights in phoenix, and one chad + gatorade bottle in new york! its been a time... a good time... wish chad the best

<3
tj

Wow, it's been a while since this has been updated...so I'll take the liberty of doing so!

We're still working on tour booking, right now the areas we're struggling with the most are CA, TX, and the Northeast coast. If you can help us get a show for any of these dates in ANY CITY in that state, please let us know at booking@thebrokenpromise.com, and we'll be sure to hook you up (especially if you're in a band that can help us get a show...we can get you shows in Minneapolis no problem.)

The dates where we need the most help (bold being most important because of 2 shows in each state):

May 29/June 1/2/3 - Northeast US (PA, NY, NJ, MD, DC area)
June 7/8 - TX
June 9 - OK (none of the clubs in OK seem to respond and none we've been working with seem to have phones or answering machines...)
June 10 - CO
June 12/13 - CA
June 14 - AZ or else OR

In other news we'll be recording a new "limited edition" EP for the tour, which will include 2 current songs, 2 brand new songs, and 2 acoustic songs. It will sell for $3, and will be AVAILABLE on May 25 - right before we leave for tour. We decided not to release the other EP yet, because we've written so many new songs that we want to keep that EP and turn it into a full-length for release later this fall.

New EP:

Tracks:
001. Fragile
002. 52 Cards In A Deck, Minus The Jokers (Like You)
003. This Is How It Can Feel When You're All Alone ***NEW***
004. The "end" In Friend ***NEW***
005. Photograph (Acoustic)
006. April Fool's Day (Acoustic)

Also be on the lookout for a new website coming soon to www.thebrokenpromise.com...I'm currently working on a redesign of the existing site to freshen things up before we hit the road.

Well, that's about it for now, but we'll see you soon.

-Chad
The Broken Promise

Alright, here's an update with The Roxy...

Thanks to all of you around the Los Angeles area, it looks like we can probably do the show there! There's still the part of getting the tickets on a pre-sale though. If everyone who has commented/emailed comes to the show with some friends, we have close to the 50 tickets we need...which also means free cd's or t-shirts to everyone who pre-orders tickets.

Since it costs $400 to pre-purchase 50 tickets, we've decided to "pre-sell" them through our website. If we really want to do this show (which we do!) we need to purchase 50 tickets by next week, so we're asking everyone who wants to go to buy theirs now. I've set up a secure shopping cart on our site to pre-purchase tickets, where you don't actually have to pay for them yet...instead when we have 50 tickets sold payment will be processed then. We're still collecting all of the billing/shipping information now, so once we have enough tickets we can finalize everything right away and get tickets sent out to you. Also, if you want to order by sending check/cash/money order instead, email roxy.tickets@thebrokenpromise.com or myself, chad@thebrokenpromise.com to make arrangements on that.

With that, to order go to http://roxy.tickets.thebrokenpromise.com. Again, anyone who pre-orders a ticket will get a free cd or t-shirt (maybe even both depending on supply left...) at the show (and yes, we're keeping a list of everyone so you get free stuff - order 2 tickets, get 2 free cd's or shirts, 3 and 3, ect...)

Thank you again to everyone, we can't wait to come play for you.

<3

Chad (and Patrick and Tim)
The Broken Promise

To all of our friends from around the Los Angeles area:

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! We have a chance to play @ The Roxy in West Hollywood on Saturday June 12, however we need a draw of 50 people to get the slot. This is where you come in...

With us being from MN, we would have to pre-purchase all of the tickets (about $400) and sell them ahead of time. Therefore, we've decided that everyone who would be willing to come to the show and buy a ticket, will get a free CD or t-shirt of their choice (maybe even both!) Tickets are $8 each, so you would get a killer rock show, and a CD or shirt (or maybe both!) for only $8!

We would love to play there, and love to see everyone rocking out with us. If you would like to buy a ticket and help us out, please comment or else email me (chad@thebrokenpromise.com) and let me know. You won't have to pay for it yet, but I need to get an idea who would come to the show (also tell all your friends and have them come!)

Thank you all, we <3 you!

- Chad

Long time with no update. We've been working on a bunch of new songs, which we'll be recording soon and releasing on our next full length. This brings me to an update on our currently planned EP:

We have decided not to release the EP yet. With all of the new song's we're working on, we want to wait and release one great album rather than two discs back to back. So what will become of "The Only Way To Fall Is Down?" Well, instead we're going to release a shorter EP and sell it for less. It's going to be pretty simplistic, and probably 4 or 5 songs on it. We're trying to work out a way where if you buy the EP, you can get the full length for cheaper. All of the details aren't worked out yet, but we'll post an update once we have everything in line.

In other news, we have been added to the FINAL SHOW at Taco Toro's in Inver Grove Heights, MN. We're sad about there being no more concerts there, because it's a fun atmosphere and pretty much the only All Ages venue in the Twin Cities that lets bands play there. Be sure to come to this show and rock TT's one last time.

Also if you live in/near Bemidji, MN, we're playing a benefit festival hosted by Punk-Online.net there in May. There's 30 bands, and currently all day tickets are only $10. Head over to www.punk-online.net for more details.

That's about it for now, take care!

<3 Chad, Patrick, and Tim
The Broken Promise
